Both the DeNovix QFX Fluorometer and Thermo Fisher Qubit™ fluorometer are used for fluorescence quantification of proteins, nucleic acids and other biomolecules.
In two key Technical Notes we compare the features and system performance of the two fluorometers. Technical Note 167 provides a performance comparison of DeNovix dsDNA Quantification Assays and Thermo Fisher Qubit™ dsDNA assays. Technical Note 200 discusses RNA quantification and a performance comparison of the DeNovix QFX Fluorometer and the Thermo Fisher Qubit™ fluormeter.
The QFX Fluorometer from DeNovix allows accurate fluorescence quantification with a versatile set of four fluorescence channels and a proprietary optical core. DeNovix offers LED excitation sources in the UV, blue, green and red ranges whereas Thermo Fisher Qubit™ 3.0 and Qubit™ 4.0 fluorometers offer blue and red excitation sources. The additional light sources of the QFX provide the ability to use a wider range of assays such as the DeNovix Broad Range dsDNA fluorescence assay which is not suitable for Thermo Fisher Qubit™ instruments.
Combined, the QFX Fluorometer and the DeNovix range of Fluorescence Assays provide the widest dynamic range and highest sensitivity of quantification available. The DeNovix QFX provides a lower dsDNA detection limit 20x below the Thermo Fisher Qubit™ fluorometer and an upper range of 2x higher.
For the full comparison of the DeNovix QFX Fluorometer vs. the Thermo Fisher Qubit™ fluorometer for dsDNA quantification, read Technical Note 167.
