Under the leadership of Dr. Charlie Johnson, TxGen is working to transform genomic research within Texas A&M University as well as collaborators across the world. By offering state-of-the-art laboratories and bioinformatics expertise, the team’s mission is “to accelerate advancements in genomics, not just in Texas but globally, upholding the Aggie Core Values: Service, Excellence, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect, and Integrity.”
Dr. Johnson oversees a team of experts in the fields of genomics, bioinformatics, and molecular science. These scientists are “dedicated to addressing the next-generation sequencing (NGS) scientists in 45 countries and hundreds of organizations.”
For 14 years, the DeNovix DS-11 Spectrophotometer has delivered reliable, high quality data for TxGen’s network of scientists. The device has played “a crucial role in…daily operations, serving as an integral part of our quality control (QC), library preparation, and sequencing workflows.”
Specifically, the DS-11 has aided TxGen in supporting researchers by assessing OD ratios and concentrations of submitted DNA and RNA samples, measuring the concentration of prepared libraries to calculate precise dilutions for qPCR, and more.
TxGen has become a recognized leader at the forefront of agrigenomics sequencing, drawn from its 15 years of experience as a sequencing lab as well as its thousands of successfully completed projects.
